- Are NYC mortgages public record?
- Yes. Mortgages on property in Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens are recorded in ACRIS with the lender, the borrower, the date and the amount. Staten Island records are kept by the county clerk.
- How do I know if a mortgage was paid off?
- A satisfaction of mortgage is recorded when a loan is paid off. A mortgage with no recorded satisfaction or consolidation is shown as open.
